Meet the Team
Richard Hall, Managing director
Richard Hall is a Chartered Town Planner and Urban Designer, and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Richard studied at the University of Westminster where he was awarded a degree in Town Planning, a postgraduate diploma in Urban Planning and a Masters degree in Urban Design. Richard has worked in London, the South East and the Midlands and has experience of the public and private sectors and has extensive experience of the identification, promotion, design and delivery of large scale residential and mixed use schemes
In January 2013, Richard became the Founder and Managing Director of a brand new Planning Consultancy, Planning and Design Group (UK) Limited - (P&DG); appointing two additional Directors, and former colleagues, Bob Woollard and David Peck, who now help lead the P&DG Team.
Bob Woollard, director
A Chartered Town Planner, with experience in both the private and public sector, Bob headed up a local authority development control department before becoming a consultant in 2005. In consultancy, he has managed client planning projects covering the full range of sectors, guiding major proposals through the complex application process. In recent years Bob has been increasingly involved in the promotion of major urban extension sites. He has given expert evidence to many planning inquiries and call-in inquiries, and has given evidence to both Regional Plan and Local Development Document examinations. Bob and Richard have worked together for over 10 years.
David Peck, director
A Chartered Town Planner with experience in the public and private sectors both in the UK and overseas, David provides bespoke, focused advice to a diverse range of clients across all sectors, including strategic land developers, house builders, landed estates and private individuals. He plays an active role in the delivery of projects, applying his own significant experience and directing the skills of colleagues and external resources to best achieve client objectives. David enjoys working with clients to maximise the development potential of assets whilst also minimising possible impacts on existing and future business opportunities, including cost implications. Applying his broad range of experience and technical knowledge, he seeks to avoid unnecessary conflicts with third parties and secure council and community support for proposals at the earliest possible stage in the development process.
THE PLanning TEAM
Our growing core planning teams both in the Midlands and London offices contain highly skilled, approachable personalities who have worked both in local government and private practice before joining P&DG. The Planners, Senior Planners and Associates are all supported on a project by project basis by the Directors with regular open discussions to brainstorm and problem solve projects with complexities. The team thrive on challenge and take great pride in our quality of service to clients, planning results and our continued high level of repeat business. When projects require the appropriate support our planners work hand in glove with our Design Team.
The Design Team
A fundamental part of the success of many of our projects is our ability to create vision and trust in our proposals, be that from the local community, the planning department, obviously the client, technical specialists and politicians. This is from early site identification though strategic promotion and finally planning applications. This confidence is achieved through selecting the correct approach to visioning at an early stage. Appropriate usage of plans and visualisation material has been at the forefront of our results. Our Design Team has proven skills in Urban Design, Master Planning, Landscape Planning, Conservation Architecture, Visual Assessment, Exhibitions and Consultation, Promotional Material and our own hosted planning consultation site.
